“SWAY IS MORE THAN JUST A DANCE SHOW!”
You’ve heard us say that before, but what, specifically, separates SWAY from the others?
Yes, SWAY has a cast of 30+ world class dancers.
Yes, SWAY has celebrity personalities.
Yes, SWAY has a story with different scenes.
Yes, SWAY has a blend of various dance styles.
Although most shows don’t have a combination of all of those elements, it still doesn’t explain the energy in the theater, and the emotions experienced by the viewers.
So, what is it that makes you say “WOW!” after the curtains close?
Earlier this year Maks said in an interview, “This is the best stage show I’ve ever been a part of! It’s the only show where the cast may have more fun than the audience.”
Sharna Burgess said, “There’s nothing like it!”
Tony said, “It’s a dream come true for all of us”
As a SWAY cast member I can attest to that.
Here’s the major difference between SWAY and the other shows. Usually a show hires a production team, a marketing team, cast dancers through auditions, and have other “work-for-hire” individuals that make the show possible. Essentially it’s people going to work just like the rest of us.
With SWAY, the producers, directors, choreographers, marketing, dancers, are all friends who’ve known each other for years. It’s not like going to work, it’s more like going to hang out with your friends.
Human beings love stories. It’s engrained in our DNA from pre-historic times to sit around the campfire and listen to a great story. In SWAY, the unique interaction between cast members is not an act. It’s all real. That genuine camaraderie and bond allows each performance to break the boundary between acting and living.
So within each dance is a story. Whether it’s a story about a man and a woman, or a story about a group of friends, the story is so captivating because it’s real.
There’s a debate about whether art imitates life, or life imitates art. In SWAY there is a unique blending of the two that transcends from the stage all the way to the balcony.
Now, let’s hear what the rest of the cast thinks in this never behind the scenes footage of SWAY. Watch the video below to see what Maks & Val Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Meryl Davis, Sharna Burgess, Serge Onik, and other cast members have to say about SWAY.
