Dance With Me Southlake is nothing short of amazing! I hesitated about taking their introduction class as a 50+ lady with zero coordination. That first class hooked me. This has been an awesome experience so far in the last 2 months of taking Latin Ballroom dance lessons. I have always wanted to learn but have been afraid since I'm a short guy and was always worried that it would be difficult for my dance partner/instructor.

I've learned so much in the short time I've been here. Its a blast and such a workout as well. This place has become my 2nd home. Everyone needs to least try this place out.

Dance with me Southlake is awesome! Not only have I learned to dance from some awesome instructors (especially Brandon Wisner) but I’ve made some life long friends - they are my dance family! When I started at the studio I was shy, and introverted. I had some problems with anxiety and depression. All these have cleared up and gotten better through dance. I am much more positive, calm and have increased in confidence. I owe a lot to this studio. It is my home away from home!

This place is so fun and awesome. Me and my husband wanted to do something special for our wedding and the first dance so we came here in hopes of getting something entertaining choreographed and man did they exceed our expectations. Our instructor Brandon was SO fun to work with and he made it enjoyable to learn our routine. I have been a dancer for 15 years but my husband has never danced a day in his life and Brandon walked him through it and you would have never known Nick has never danced. Our guests were so impressed and entertained by our dance. We will definitely be back to take group classes and hope to make this our new hobbie together!!

FAQ

No — most people who walk into our Southlake studio come on their own. In private lessons your instructor is your partner. In group classes we rotate partners through the hour, so you dance with several people and never sit out. If you come as a couple, you're welcome to rotate or stay together the whole class.

It's the most common reason couples come to us. A private lesson is fifty minutes of learning something together that neither of you is already good at, which turns out to be a better evening than another restaurant. And because we're at 290 Grand Avenue in Southlake Town Square, you can park once — dinner, a lesson and a walk around the square in the same trip. Plenty of Southlake, Colleyville and Keller couples book a standing weekly or biweekly slot and treat it as their night. No experience needed on either side, and you don't need to be equally good.

Start three to four months before the wedding if you can. That gives you room for 5 to 10 private lessons at an unhurried pace, which is where most couples land for a choreographed first dance. If you want simple comfort — clean timing, a confident entrance and exit — 5 to 7 lessons is plenty. If you want custom choreography built to your song with a real finale, plan on 10 or more. Four to six weeks still works for something simpler and elegant. Bring your song if you've picked one; if you haven't, we'll help you choose in the first lesson.

Yes, and tell us early. The venue, the size and surface of the dance floor, and what you're wearing all change what choreography actually works on the night — a long train, a tight bustle, a fitted gown or a small floor each need different solutions. We've prepared couples for receptions across Southlake, Grapevine, Colleyville and the wider Metroplex, and we handle the music editing and timing so you only have to learn the dance. We also choreograph father-daughter and mother-son dances, wedding party numbers and full surprise routines.

No. Most of our new students have never taken a dance lesson in their lives, and our beginner and all-levels classes assume exactly that. One of our students described herself as "a 50+ lady with zero coordination" before her first visit — she was dancing by the end of it and hasn't stopped. There's no audition, no fitness requirement, and nobody watching from the sidelines. If you can walk, we can teach you to dance

New students start with our $49 intro special, which includes a private lesson + a group class/ or an invitation to our next social party. We'll walk you through the options in person at your intro, and you won't be asked to commit to anything that day.

Wear something you can move and sweat in — slacks, leggings, a skirt with movement, or jeans with some give. For shoes the rule is smooth sole: leather-soled dress shoes, character shoes, or proper dance shoes. Avoid rubber-soled sneakers and cowboy boots with heavy lugged soles, because they grip the hardwood and stop your feet from turning, which is how knees and ankles get strained. If you're wearing heels, block heels are safer than sharp stilettos. You don't need to buy dance shoes to start — most people begin in something already in their closet.

Yes. As private lessons and in group lessons (check our mothly schedule). Texas two-step, country waltz and country line dancing aren't currently on our weekly group schedule, but they're some of the most-requested private lessons we teach, and one or two sessions is usually enough to get comfortable on a dance-hall floor. Ask us at your intro and we'll set it up.

Salsa, bachata, kizomba, merengue, cha-cha, rumba, hustle, swing and more. Our current group schedule is updated every month. Kizomba in particular, a smooth Angolan partner dance built on close connection and simple walking footwork, is taught almost nowhere else in the Metroplex. No partner required for any of them.

It's our Friday class, and we spin a wheel before it starts to decide what we're dancing. Ballroom, Latin, country, swing — you find out when everyone else does. It's at 6:50 PM and it's a good way to sample styles you'd never sign up for on purpose, or to end the week without having to decide anything. All levels.

Yes Our classes go beyond technique into stage presence, musical interpretation, partnering connection and performance quality, with feedback and practice rounds. Our owner and head coach, Brandon Wisner, has taught ballroom professionally since 2007, was nationally ranked as a Top Teacher for six years running, and competed on a season of So You Think You Can Dance. We're at 290 Grand Avenue, in Southlake Town Square — the open-air town center off Southlake Boulevard. Parking is completely free throughout the Square; the East Garage (at 1451 Federal Way) is your closest covered option, but you can also look for free street parking right along Grand Avenue, which tends to open up nicely in the evenings. We're about 10 to 15 minutes from Colleyville, Keller, Trophy Club, Westlake, Grapevine and Roanoke, and 20 minutes from Flower Mound and North Richland Hills. Yes to both. We teach private lessons throughout the day, from 12PM, which suits people who work in or near Town Square and want to come at lunch or straight after work rather than making a second trip out. We also run group lessons and choreography for corporate events, holiday parties and team activities — call 817.251.1444 with your group size and date and we'll put something together.

Yes. Our students range from their twenties into their eighties, and ballroom is one of the few activities where that mix genuinely works. Classes are low-impact and self-paced, and in a private lesson the tempo, the footwork and the frame all adapt to you. If you have a joint issue, a replacement, or anything else we should know, tell your instructor on day one and we'll build around it.
