Dance Instructor

Eric Botello

Eric was born in the US and raised in Texas. Music is his soul and has led him to dance different types of styles since he was 9 years old. Eric was inspired to dance by his sisters. His favorite dance to teach is the Cha-cha because it’s fun, and his favorite music to dance to is Salsa because it’s fun and easy!

Eric enjoys R&B, hip-hop, and pop music. His favorite movie is the Harry Potter series. If he could be any animal, he would be an elephant because they can be seen as dangerous once you get them mad.

Eric was on the NMSU DanceSport team while studying ballroom dancing at New Mexico State University. Eric has danced for several dance companies in Texas. He shares his love of dance through teaching, performing, and competing. His hope in life is to help change people’s lives!

Dance Instructor

Jason Pimentel

Jason Pimentel has been a Salsa dancer since the age of 8 years old.  From a young age, Jason’s love of music and dance was influenced by such artists as Michael Jackson, Prince, Marc Anthony and music from the 80s and 90s. Joining Starlite Dance Studio under the guidance of the late, great David Melendez is where Jason fell in love with dancing Salsa on 2 (New York Style). There from the age of 8-19 Jason was privileged to travel the Continental United States, Puerto Rico and Canada to spread his passion for dance and performing. At 15, Jason was given the opportunity to start teaching children (7-19 years old), as well as adults, to dance! Even though Salsa is music definitely Jason’s favorite genre of music and dance style, he wanted to expand his horizons of dance and self-discovery by entering the world of Ballroom Dancing.  Starting at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio franchise training and teaching American Smooth and Rhythm, Jason soon excelled and became certified in 12 dances within the Arthur Murray franchise.  Aside from the 12 traditional Ballroom Dances, Jason was trained in West Coast Swing, Argentine Tango, Night Club 2 Step and Country Two Step. When Jason isn’t eating Lasagna or watching Disney’s Lion King, he is figuring out ways to enhance his students’ dancing through fun and innovative ways. Teaching people to enjoy and appreciate music, dance, self-awareness and self-confidence is what truly keeps him motivated and teaching.  “Leave it all on the Dance Floor!”
