Manager / Coach

Andrea Marletta

Rosario “Andrea” Marletta, a child full of dreams, was born in Paern Italy, just outside of Sicily, on June 11th. At an early age, Andrea and his family had moved to Gladbeck, Germany. As early as 5 years old, Andrea showed clear evidence that he would become a great athlete. From track and field to cart racing, Andrea had proven time and again that he is born to win. At the age of 12 years, Andrea had moved back to Italy and that is when he discovered Ballroom Dancing. Instantly, his athletic nature had realized the beauty of this fine sport. And after his first dance lesson, Andrea knew that dancing would be his companion for life. With the support of his parents and his natural drive to succeed, Andrea had made dancing his life, and not long after, dance has become his religion. He claims that “There is only one other activity that can compare to the joy of dancing – teaching it…”

Jason Pimentel

Jason Pimentel has been a Salsa dancer since the age of 8 years old.  From a young age, Jason’s love of music and dance was influenced by such artists as Michael Jackson, Prince, Marc Anthony and music from the 80s and 90s. Joining Starlite Dance Studio under the guidance of the late, great David Melendez is where Jason fell in love with dancing Salsa on 2 (New York Style). There from the age of 8-19 Jason was privileged to travel the Continental United States, Puerto Rico and Canada to spread his passion for dance and performing. At 15, Jason was given the opportunity to start teaching children (7-19 years old), as well as adults, to dance! Even though Salsa is music definitely Jason’s favorite genre of music and dance style, he wanted to expand his horizons of dance and self-discovery by entering the world of Ballroom Dancing.  Starting at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio franchise training and teaching American Smooth and Rhythm, Jason soon excelled and became certified in 12 dances within the Arthur Murray franchise.  Aside from the 12 traditional Ballroom Dances, Jason was trained in West Coast Swing, Argentine Tango, Night Club 2 Step and Country Two Step. When Jason isn’t eating Lasagna or watching Disney’s Lion King, he is figuring out ways to enhance his students’ dancing through fun and innovative ways. Teaching people to enjoy and appreciate music, dance, self-awareness and self-confidence is what truly keeps him motivated and teaching.  “Leave it all on the Dance Floor!”

Administrative Associate

Catherine Canales

Catherine grew up dancing in her living room, dancing to songs by Shakira, Selena Quintanilla, and Jennifer Lopez, embracing her Salvadorian background. Resembling Shakira’s Belly dancing she was nicknamed “Shakira” by her family. As she got older, she discovered a new style of dance, Hip Hop. Of course, adding some Latin flavor to her Hip Hop dancing. Mainly a self-taught dancer, she teaches others and choreographs on her free time. Catherine has been given the opportunity to teach Hip Hop at Dance With Me Glen Head. Her passion and dream to own a studio continues as she shares her love of dance with the world.
