Dance Instructor

Ivan Paulovich

Ivan’s dance career began in Russia in 1997 when his sister asked him to join her for dance practice. After three months of learning, Ivan placed first in a local Latin dance competition. A few years later, in 2000, his mother decided to give him a better future by taking him to Western Europe. The first destination was Belgium, where he met his first international dance partner, Wendy Vaeremans. After 3 years of practice, they finally started to compete. After 1 year of competing in Belgium, Ivan moved to Holland to pursue competitive dancing more seriously with his new partner. In 2007 he placed 5th in the Dutch Amateur Latin Championships. In 2008, Ivan and his partner decided to participate together on the popular TV show “So You Think You Can Dance.” During the SYTYCD Bootcamp in England they were separated, and Ivan ended up winning the show. Since then, his whole life changed as he started to perform on the biggest stages and arenas in Holland. He also gave workshops and danced for large corporations such as Heineken and Mercedes Benz. Ivan started to travel between Belgium and Holland to teach dance and to judge competitions. After six successful years in Western Europe, Ivan decided to take his career to the next level by going to the U.S. His latest achievement includes being selected to perform in the acclaimed theatrical dance production, “SWAY” starring Tony Dovolani, Maksim and Val Chmerkovskiy.
