Your wedding day is one of the most memorable milestones of your life, and your First Dance sets the tone for the entire reception. Yet, for many engaged couples in New York City, the thought of dancing in front of dozens—or hundreds—of guests brings on serious performance anxiety. Between packed corporate schedules, venue walkthroughs, and endless vendor calls, finding time to rehearse can feel overwhelming.

At Dance With Me Midtown, we make learning to dance fun, relaxing, and effortless. Situated in the center of Manhattan, our Ballroom dance studio in Midtown, NYC offers a sanctuary where you can escape the city noise, reconnect with your partner, and build genuine dance skills.

My second favorite is Alejandro. If you want to just have fun and just enjoy / learn social skills dancing he is the best.
And our Thursday unwind streching class is just my obsession.
Thank you 🤗

I wasn’t sure how my fiancé was going to react to the lessons and after our two hours he booked another session for us he enjoyed it so much! We will continue now with group lessons in our future! Thanks, Wesley!

I first attended a group class, since DWMM has classes every day of the week and it's nice that they're at the same time too! It took me a while for dance to grow on me and really get good. But the instructors and everyone who not only works here, but who dances here is wonderful!
I have Srna and Milijan who are both amazing at what they do and are very funny and caring. Mariam who works at the front desk is an absolute sweetheart!! Everyone is so supportive of each other and fun to talk to, this really became my second family ❤️
DWMM even invited me to come watch their Nationals competition in December, which was Winter Ball ❄️ I was so sad I couldn't compete, but I wasn't dancing long enough and they wanted to make sure I was totally prepared.
When I had to take a break from dance and couldn't dance for a while, my instructor called me just to check in on me and see how I was doing. As I wasn't dancing I felt like something was missing and I just wasn't the same person (as cliche as that might sound)!
Now I've just finished competing in my 1st ever dance competition winning 2nd place 2x in the Championship rounds!! They have a gala, theme for the competition, and it's a whole experience 😍 The competitions all have different themes. This one was 50's.
I always wanted to have something be my thing and devote all my time and energy into it and compete, and now I finally got my wish ❤️

We’ve streamlined our teaching methodology to make your wedding dance preparation efficient, effective, and completely stress-free.
Initial Consultation & Intro Lesson:
Meet your dedicated instructor at our Midtown studio, play your chosen song, and learn basic step mechanics to determine your natural rhythm and movement style.
Custom Choreography Design:
We map out a tailored routine aligned with your wedding song, reception dress structure, shoe height, and dance floor size.
Rehearsals & Floor Craft:
Refine your movement, practice dips, master spins, and develop spatial awareness so you never feel lost on the floor.
The Final Dress Rehearsal:
Conduct a complete walkthrough in your actual wedding shoes (and practice skirt or petticoat) simulating your reception entrance, musical cues, and grand finale photo-ops.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wedding Dance Lessons in NYC
When should we start taking wedding dance lessons?
We recommend starting 2 to 4 months before your wedding date. Starting early allows muscle memory to build naturally without added last-minute wedding planning stress. However, if your wedding is just around the corner, our accelerated crash courses can prepare you in as little as one week.
How much do Wedding dance classes cost in NYC/SoHo?
At Dance With Me SoHo, you can start with a $49 Intro Special. Book your class today!
What if my partner and I have "two left feet"?
Over 80% of the couples who step into our Midtown studio have zero prior dance experience. Our step-by-step teaching method breaks down complex movements into simple, manageable pieces. We focus on natural body language and comfort rather than rigid formality.
What should we wear to our private dance sessions?
Wear comfortable street clothing or athletic attire that allows freedom of movement. As you progress closer to your wedding date, we strongly recommend bringing your actual wedding shoes (or a pair with a similar heel height and sole type) to practice proper balance and floor grip.
Can you choreograph a routine for a song mashup?
Yes! Many couples start with a romantic slow dance and abruptly transition into a high-energy Salsa, Swing, or Hip-Hop routine.
