The Ballroom Dances We Teach in Atlanta

Wondering what dances are taught in ballroom classes? We cover the full spectrum of social and competitive styles.

American Style Ballroom (Smooth & Rhythm)

We teach American Smooth dances including the Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Viennese Waltz. For American Rhythm, we offer Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, and Mambo. This open style allows expressive partnering and solo embellishments, making it the most common style at American social events.

International Style Ballroom (Standard & Latin)

Our International Standard curriculum covers the Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, and Quickstep. The International Latin styles include Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, and Jive.

What is the difference between American Style and International Style ballroom?

American Style (Smooth & Rhythm) uses open partnership and expressive styling, which is perfect for social events. International Style (Standard & Latin) uses a closed frame throughout the style and is used in competitive ballroom worldwide. Dance With Me teaches both. Our instructors, like Tristen, actively compete in Smooth & Rhythm.

Amanda started dancing at the early age of 2. She grew up in the DFW area where she trained and competed in styles such as ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and contemporary. Throughout the years she was awarded several high-scoring solo awards, scholarships, and opportunities to train with the industry’s top teachers and performers. Amanda began her ballroom training at age 16 and fell in love with it immediately. She started as an amateur and then quickly moved her way up to doing it professionally. Amanda and her dance partner, Eyne, compete together in the professional circuit and frequently participate in competitions nationwide. Amanda has always had a passion for teaching.
